This Amazing Multitool Is The Key To Keeping The Adventure Going When Something Goes Sideways

How a Multitool the Size of a Key Saved My Family Vacation
I’m your typical suburban family man. A wife, two kids, a house I’m proud to call mine, and a 9-to-5 job that affords us youth sports registrations and a nice annual family vacation.
Saturdays are spent on the sidelines of soccer games and mowing the lawn—my much-cherished time of solitude. I’m the first to admit that lawn maintenance is the extent of my handiness around the house, other than screw tightening or lightbulb replacement. When it comes to a broken-down dishwasher or a leaky faucet, I’m not your guy.
It’s somewhat of a family joke. I’ve been gifted power tools over the years that are still in their original boxes. I’m the last person my brother would call to help him tile his new kitchen floor, but the first person he would call to bring the beer and keep him company.
This year, my birthday gift from him was a tiny 16-in-1 multitool that is size of a key and appropriately called Keyzmo. This very fitting gift, which is actually quite the cool little tool, was comedic proof that my family had finally accepted this was the extent of my handiness.
When I opened Keyzmo, I checked it out and instinctively added it to my keychain (it looks just like a key). What I didn’t know was that one subconscious move would end up saving our family vacation just a few months later.
But it did, and now I want everyone to have Keyzmo.
The Storm
My wife meticulously plans our Summer vacations, and this year was no different. An oceanfront home in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina awaited us. Our days would be filled with swimming, wakeboarding, kite flying, and sand castle building, and our nights filled with ghost crab hunting and s’mores over a beach campfire.
Three days prior to our departure, we received the call. Our rental home had been damaged in a recent storm and was uninhabitable until the roof was repaired. We had no time to book something equally as great on such short notice.
Before telling the kids, my wife and I brainstormed spontaneous vacation ideas to soften the blow. A staycation with trips to waterparks within driving distance. A hotel in Cape Cod if we could find one with vacancy. A spontaneous trip to visit their grandparents. Braving our first family camping trip in the great outdoors.
We decided to let the kids choose. They voted enthusiastically for a camping trip—in agreement for the first time ever.
The Adventure Begins...
Admittedly, I’m not an outdoorsman and had never been camping. How hard could it be?
We created a supply list and I headed to Target while my wife searched online for a campground with an open site, and we would be on our way the next day.
She scored a campsite at a great campground, complete with a lake for fishing, hiking trails, bike trails and plenty of kid-friendly activities. We repacked for a different kind of vacation—rooftop carrier secured, brand new fishing poles packed, and bikes in tow on a bike rack.
We headed into the mountains with both excitement and unease at a new type of vacation. It didn’t take long to realize this trip wasn’t smooth Interstate driving, but narrow mountain roads with gravel and potholes.
An increasingly loud rattle had my attention. I pulled over to inspect, only to realize the rooftop carrier wasn’t as straight as when we left. A few of the bolts were coming loose from the rough mountain roads—and possibly my less-than-spectacular mounting skills.
I definitely didn’t have a screwdriver with me.
I popped open the back of our SUV in search of anything I could use as a makeshift Phillips screwdriver to tighten the bolts, but came up empty.
Realizing this was going to take longer than expected, I returned to the driver’s seat to turn off the car. That’s when Keyzmo on my keychain caught my eye. Did this thing actually have a Phillips head?
IT DID. Less than 5 minutes later, the rooftop carrier was secured and we were on our way.
Let's Fish!
Upon arrival at the campground, our kids wanted to experience everything as soon as our tent was pitched. We agreed that fishing would be our first adventure. Brand new fishing rods and tackle box in hand—we settled into spots on the dock and prepared to cast our first-ever fishing lines. I setup my kids’ rods, feeding the fishing line up to the reel until it was spooled with the suggested 100 yards of line.
When the first reel was ready, I realized I didn’t have a way to cut the fishing line. Could I use friction against the edge of the dock to cut it? Were my teeth strong enough to bite it? I knew Keyzmo didn’t have scissors since it’s flat, but did it have a serrated edge?
IT DID, and it worked perfectly.
Time for a Cold One
Thanks to Keyzmo, fishing was a huge success with both my kids catching their first fish. The sun had begun to set, and we made our way back to our campsite for dinner and s’mores.
The day had been rewarding. A new adventure, successful fishing, and burgers cooking over an open flame. Time for a beer.
But, no bottle opener. Of all the things to forget.
There was no chance Keyzmo would save the day yet again, but I checked my handy little multitool just in case.
It didn’t disappoint. IT DID have a bottle opener.
Going for a Ride
After a great night of sleep in the cool mountain air, the kids decided we would explore the bike trails after breakfast. With a map in hand, we headed out.
Following my young son close behind, I couldn’t help but notice something didn’t look right with his bike. He was struggling to keep it moving in a straight direction despite his best efforts.
He pulled off the trail so I could inspect, and it was clear his bike spokes needed tightening. They must have rattled loose during the bumpy ride, just like the rooftop carrier.
I needed a bike spoke key, and definitely didn’t have the foresight to pack one. It wasn’t safe for him to keep riding, and the disappointment on his face was crushing. We began walking our bikes back to the campsite while my wife and daughter continued on the ride.
About a half-mile later, I thought about my Keyzmo and the first THREE times it saved me during this trip. What were the chances that impressive little gadget also had a bike spoke key? I pulled it out of my pocket.
I DID. It even had three different size options to properly tighten his specific spokes.
I stopped my son and got to work on his bike. His face lit up with excitement. We turned around and even managed to catch up to my wife and daughter and carry on with our family trail ride.
FOUR times during our family vacation, Keyzmo saved me. It now goes with me everywhere, understanding I’ll never know when I’ll need it but I always want it handy.
I told my brother how Keyzmo saved so many aspects of our spontaneous camping adventure, and he wasn’t surprised.
While I took the gift as a dig at my handyman skills, he was already a big fan of Keyzmo and it was a genuine gift he knew would be helpful.
After studying it more closely after our trip, I realized it has 16 legitimate functions:
- Wire Stripper
- 12 Point Universal Wrench
- Imperial Closed Wrench (6 sizes)
- Bike Spoke Key
- Imperial Ruler
- Bottle Opener
- 1/4" Open Wrench
- Serrated Edge
- Scoring Tip
- Can Opener
- Screw Drivers (2 slotted sizes + 2 Philips)
- Metric Closed Wrench (6 sizes)
- Protractor
- 1/4" Bit Driver
- Metric Ruler
- File
If you include all of the different sizes for the wrenches and screw drivers, Keyzmo has 30 different functions!
When I first opened my birthday gift, my first thought was this tiny tool wouldn’t come close to matching the functions of its full-sized counterparts. However, it’s clever design and my successes in Mother Nature proved me wrong. It can do anything.
It’s now my go-to around the house. Who needs power tools and hand tools when you have Keyzmo?

What Other Keyzmo Owners Are Saying About It
A little life saver
Our son's bicycle brake malfunctioned and needed to be adjusted to work properly. I pulled out Keyzmo and adjusted the tension screw in less than a minute. Now our Son's bike stops on a dime, thank you!

Solid construction, works like a charm!
I thought this was a gimmick at first but after reading the positive reviews I decided to give it a try. After weeks of trying Keyzmo on dozens of items around my house it now permanently hangs on my keychain.

I wish I had known about Keyzmo years ago
I'm constantly using Keyzmo during my camping trips. From cutting line to opening bottles.

What I love about Keyzmo
- It's durable - This thing is made with thick steel, so it's not going to bend on you if you find yourself needing to apply some torque.
- It's handy – I've tried to be the guy who always carries a pocket knife, but it always ended up getting left behind because it was an extra thing that I didn't want in my pocket. Since Keyzmo is a natural addition to my keys, and I am never without my key ring, I've always got it when I need it.
- It's discreet – I'm not a flashy person. I'd rather go unnoticed and I tend to avoid accessories that stand out, so a tool that's disguised as a key is just my style.
- It's a great gift – Since being gifted one of my own, I've found myself giving them out to my friends and colleagues. I can see their interest when they see me open a beer at a barbeque, so it's an easy way to show appreciation when I give them one for themselves.
- 30-day Money Back Guarantee – if you’re not 100% satisfied with Hootie, you can easily return it within 30 days, hassle-free!
